Robert Boudreaux
The American Institute of Architects - Baton Rouge recently
elected its 2003 board of directors.
The chapter's theme this year will be "Design Matters."
According to AIA-Baton Rouge President Robert Boudreaux, of
Chenevert Songy Rodi Soderberg Inc., "We spend so much
of our daily lives in the built environment. Architecture
can transcend and move us. Design does matter. Good design
is good for business, it is good for the worship environment
and it is good for the living environment. We will strive
to show the public how this is so in the next year."
Other members elected as officers include Vice President/President
Elect Gary Dunn, Gary Dunn AIA; Treasurer Whitney LeJeune,
Post Architects; and Secretary Chris Sapp, Sapp & Sapp
Architects. Directors are Jim Howell, Louisiana State University;
Mark Lopresto, Cress and Lopresto Architects; Jack Ford, Ford
Dickerson AAC; and Kevin Harris, Kevin Harris Architect LLC.
State delegates are Richard Brown, Bani Carville & Brown

R. Michael Morton, William "Bill"
Taylor, Richard "Dick" Lee, Marlin Stinson, Tom
Dyar, Al Dyar
LandCoast, a specialty contractor headquartered in New Iberia,
has added division offices and management personnel. R. Michael
Morton, chief executive officer, has assumed the title of
president and made the following announcements.
William "Bill" Taylor joined LandCoast as vice
president of operations. Taylor comes to LandCoast from Lockwood
Greene, where he held the position of director of construction.
Richard "Dick" Lee was named vice president of
sales and marketing. Lee was national sales manager for Flexible
Products prior to joining LandCoast. Marlin Stinson will manage
the recently opened western division office in Denver.
Recently appointed ArkLaTex Branch Manager Tom Dyar will
also have the responsibility of working with selected EPC
firms throughout the United States.
Al Dyar will head the newly formed Strategic Partnering and
Alliance Team, working with Jim Lee and Jim Miller (both former
vice presidents with Fluor Daniel).
Henry Whitty Sr.
Bo-Mac Contractors Ltd. recently announced that Henry Whitty
Sr. will head its new Louisiana Division in Slidell.
Bo-Mac provides pile installation and marine construction
services to owners, contractors and engineering firms in the
southeastern and southwestern regions of the United States.
The company is based in Beaumont, Texas.
Dale Landry, George Enete
EMCO, a Baton Rouge based communications and technology company,
recently announced the addition of Dale Landry and George
Enete to its work force.
Landry comes to EMCO after 25 years with Motorola Inc. as
part of Motorola's Commercial, Government and Industrial Solutions
Sector (CGISS). As an EMCO system technologist, Landry's responsibilities
include presale and post-sale system design, project management,
system integration, as well as technical research on new and
emerging technologies.
His service at Motorola included design and implementation
of large communication systems, project management and supervision
of service related issues. He has an associate degree in electronics
and an unlimited amount of specialized training in the telecommunications
field.
Enete comes to EMCO with more than 20 years of experience
marketing information technology solutions to state and local
government agencies. He has won numerous sales, sales management
and marketing awards and has been involved in the growth and
development of field operations for regional and national
technology companies.
Enete's responsibilities with EMCO include development of
information technology solutions within state and local government
agencies and industry in Texas and Louisiana.
EMCO President Janice Pellar said that "these professionals
enhance our company's position as a national competitor in
IT services."
Ron Montgomery
Architectural Systems Inc., based in Dallas, recently announced
the addition of sales professional Ron Montgomery in Shreveport.
With five years of contractor sales experience and more than
15 years as an architectural and engineering sales representative
in commercial and industrial supplies, Montgomery will lead
the Louisiana/Arkansas territory for the company. His responsibilities
will include specifications, sales and technical service.
Architectural Systems is a manufacturer's representative
group and distributor of specialty construction products,
with territories covering Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Lynn Riche' David
Lynn Riche' David has been selected as the Louisiana executive
director of the American Institute of Architects. David succeeds
Richard Thevenot, who recently retired after 37 years of service
as executive director.
David, a native of Cottonport and resident of New Roads,
comes to AIA Louisiana with a bachelor's and master's degree
in business administration from the University of Southwestern
Louisiana, graduating Cum Laude.
She previously served as chief civil deputy for Pointe Coupee
Parish Sheriff Paul Raymond Smith. David is an active community
leader, having served as board member and treasurer of the
H.O.P.E. Ministry of Pointe Coupee, is a recipient of Volunteer
of the Year recognition by the American Heart Association,
and a member of Pointe Coupee Community Vision. David is also
a member of Catholic of Pointe Coupee School Board and St.
Mary Catholic Church of New Roads.
