Todd Henry
Todd Henry has been named vice president and engineering
services manager at Alliance Inc. of Shreveport.
Henry will manage the engineering services department, which
includes design, drafting and surveying. His experience includes
design and construction project management, new business and
product development, production management, design analysis
on a variety of civil related projects, and experience with
local, state and national building codes.
Frank Schambach
Frank Schambach, president of Total Building Concepts of
Metairie, recently received a Distinguished Service Award
from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning
Engineers. In addition, Waring Green, a Fellow ASHRAE Life
Member in Metairie, received the Distinguished 50-Year Award.
The awards were presented during ASHRAE's 2003 Annual Meeting
in Kansas City, Mo.
The Distinguished Service Award "salutes members of
any grade for giving freely of their time and talent to the
society," and the Distinguished 50-Year Member Award
"is given to persons who have been a member of the society
for 50 years and have performed outstanding service to the
society."
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization
of 55,000 persons. Its sole objective is to advance through
research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education
the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning
and refrigeration to serve the evolving needs of the public.
Tom Kyritz, John Zbiegien
At its spring committee meetings held in Chicago, Ill., the
Scaffolding, Shoring and Forming Institute (SSFI) elected
a new slate of officers for the upcoming 2003-2004 term.
Tom Kyritz of Patent Construction Systems was elected president,
and John Zbiegien of Universal Manufacturing was elected vice
president.
The outgoing president, Jeff Ott of bil-jax, served five
terms while the outgoing vice president, Liz Callahan, served
the previous three-year term.
The Scaffolding, Shoring and Forming Institute is a non-profit
trade association committed to the technical advancement,
promotion and understanding of scaffolding, shoring, forming
and suspended scaffolding. The institute concentrates its
efforts on the manufacturing, engineering and safe use aspects
of its products.
SSFI continues to lead the industry by developing a series
of test standards for rating scaffolding and shoring products
in order to foster a consistent method of evaluation for the
products.
