Clyde P. Roy
LUBA Workers' Comp recently named Clyde P. Roy as its chief
operating officer. Roy was promoted from his current position
as senior vice president. He has served in that capacity since
1999.
Prior to joining LUBA, he served as state sales director for
PCA Solutions Inc., where he was responsible for statewide
sales involving workers' compensation benefits.
LUBA Workers' Comp is a Louisiana insurer designed to return
surpluses to its policyholders based upon individual safety
performance. The company has turned over $14 million to its
policyholders.
Tom Moeller
Tom Moeller, manager of Baton Rouge's ExxonMobil refinery
and chairman of the board of the Louisiana Chemical Industry
Alliance, was recently promoted to direct ExxonMobil refinery
operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Moeller's
office is in Brussels.
As chairman of the LCIA board, he also served on the board
of directors and on the Executive Committee of the LCA.
Lawrence Adams
Lawrence Adams AIA recently joined Perez APAC of New Orleans
as design director.
Adams has specialized in hotel design and large scale development
projects at major architectural and planning firms, including
his own, where he directed numerous high profile architectural
projects including the Four Seasons, RIHGA Royal and Chambers
hotels in New York City.
He co-authored, with Richard Penner and Walter Rutes, a professional
book entitled Hotel Design Planning and Development.
For nine years as adjunct faculty member at New York University
Adams has taught master's degree courses on hospitality design,
planning, development and management.
G. Phillip Shuler III
G. Phillip Shuler III, partner at Chaffe McCall, Phillips,
Toler and Sarpy LLP of New Orleans, was recently elected a
Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Inc.
in Washington, D.C.
Shuler has practiced law for Chaffe McCall since 1973 and
leads the firm's Employment Law Section. He is past chairman
of the Labor Law Section of the Louisiana Bar Association,
a member of the Employment Law Subcommittee of the American
Bar Association Litigation Section, and chairman of the National
Labor and Employment Law Council of the Associated General
Contractors of America.
Shuler also reports on legal issues affecting the industry
in his monthly column in Louisiana Contractor magazine.
The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Inc. was founded
in 1995 as a non-profit professional association honoring
the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of Labor and
Employment Law. Shuler is the sixth fellow elected from Louisiana.
Shuler received his law degree from Kansas University Law
School in 1969, where he was chairman of the Moot Court Council.
Founded in 1826, Chaffe McCall is New Orleans' oldest law
firm, and currently employs 66 lawyers in its New Orleans,
Baton Rouge and Caracas, Venezuela, offices.

Louise Turner
The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) will
induct 35 new members into the Council of Fellows during the
ASLA Annual Meeting Oct. 30-Nov. 3 in New Orleans.
Jack R. Cochran of New Orleans, and Max Z. Conrad and Suzanne
Louise Turner of Baton Rouge will be inducted during the ceremony.
The Council of Fellows is comprised of more than 600 landscape
architects recognized by their peers for outstanding accomplishments
in works of landscape architecture, administrative leadership,
knowledge and service to the profession.
Fellows may use the designation FASLA following their name
to signify membership in the ASLA Council of Fellows.
Founded in 1899, ASLA is the national professional association
for landscape architects, representing more than 13,500 members.
Landscape architecture is a comprehensive discipline of land
analysis, planning, design, management, preservation, and
rehabilitation.
George V. Baus Jr.
George V. Baus Jr. recently joined Gallagher of Louisiana
in the New Orleans office as a vice president specializing
in bonding and insurance for contractors.
Gallagher of Louisiana has offices in Baton Rouge, Lake Charles,
Monroe, Plattenville and New Orleans, and is part of Arthur
J. Gallagher.
Baus was formerly with Zurich North America for 11 years as
an executive in both the Financial Services units. While there,
he worked to re-establish and expand the company's New Orleans
office through marketing and underwriting efforts for the
construction and banking industries.
He is a Tulane University graduate and is currently enrolled
in the MBA program at the Tulane A.B. Freeman School of Business.
He has also received the CIC designation from the Society
of Certified Insurance Counselors.
