Vic Weston
Vic Weston, president Tri-State Road Boring Inc. of Baton
Rouge, has been elected 2005-2006 treasurer of the Associated
General Contractors of America.
During his tenure as an AGC national officer, Weston will
serve as an ex-officio member of all AGC committees.
AGC made the announcement during its March convention in
Las Vegas, Nev.
Samuel P. Hunter, president and CEO of T. A. Loving Co. of
Goldsboro, N.C., is the 2005-2006 president; Harry L. Mashburn,
CEO of Mashburn Construction Co. Inc. of Columbia S. C. is
senior vice president; and Steve L. Massie, CEO, Jack L. Massie
Contractors Inc. of Williamsburg, Va., is vice president.
AGC represents more than 33,000 firms, including 7,000 of
America's leading general contractors and more than 12,000
specialty-contracting firms. More than 14,000 service providers
and suppliers are associated with AGC through a nationwide
network of chapters.
Geoffrey Zimmer, J. L. "Jim"
Shumaker, Josh Hill, Keith Clement, Scott Morvant, William
Wolf
Brice Building Co. of New Orleans recently announced that
the following personnel have joined its New Orleans Division:
Geoffrey Zimmer, controller; J.L. "Jim" Shumaker,
chief estimator; Josh Hill, assistant project manager; Keith
Clement, project manager; Scott Morvant, estimator; and William
Wolf, assistant project manager.
Daniel P. "Danny" Cavalier
Daniel P. "Danny" Cavalier of Basic Industries
Inc. in Baton Rouge, has been named as XServ Inc. manager,
business development - Eastern Region, said XServ CEO Mike
McGinnis.
Basic Industries is a subsidiary of Xserv Inc. of Houston,
Texas.
Cavalier will have total responsibility for coordinating
all opportunities for XServ's companies for the region and
report directly to the operating president. He has served
as manager, business development for Basic Industries for
the last two years.
Cavalier has more than seven years in the construction industry,
including five years as director of education for the Louisiana
Associated Builders & Contractors. He has a bachelor's
degree in secondary education and a master's degree in administration.
XServ Inc. is the holding company for six operating companies
involved in the industrial scaffolding, insulation and coatings
business. The company works as both an open shop and union
company providing services to clients in the power, refining
and petrochemical industries.
Basic Industries is an industrial specialty contractor and
performs such services as insulation, coatings, refractory,
abatement, fireproofing, scaffolding and tower and vessel
maintenance.
Terry Eastman
Terry Eastman has been named chief financial officer for
Aerial Access Equipment LLC (AAE) of Baton Rouge, said Gene
Torrence, AAE president.
Eastman has more than 25 years experience in the construction
industry, plant environment and the manufacturing industry.
Prior to joining Aerial Access Equipment he worked 10 years
for a Baton Rouge regional equipment company as CFO and vice
president of finance. He has a bachelor's degree from Colorado
State University. He is also a member of the LSU School of
Business Advisory Board and a leader in the Boy Scouts of
America.
"We are extremely proud to have Terry on our staff,"
Torrence said. "He has years of experience in the construction
industry and is a valuable asset to our staff."
Aerial Access Equipment offers rental, sales, service and
parts for aerial lifts, manlifts, forklifts, industrial lift
trucks and material handling equipment.
Susan Hollingsworth
The Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association (CSDA) elected
Susan Hollingsworth president at its annual convention in
February. Hollingsworth is CSDA's first woman president in
the organization's 33-year history and her two-year term is
effective immediately.
Hollingsworth owns Holes Inc. of Houston and has been an
active CSDA member since 1976. She has served as chairperson
of the CSDA safety committee and as CSDA's vice president.
Other CSDA officers elected were vice president Tom Stowell
of Norton Construction Products in Flowery Branch, Ga.; and
secretary/treasurer Doug Walker of Atlantic Concrete Cutting
in Mt. Holly, N. J.
Ren Owen
Sloan Valve Company recently honored Ren Owen, vice president
of business development, with an award signifying his 40 years
of service to the company.
Sloan president and CEO Chuck Allen presented the 40-year
service award to Owen and expressed his appreciation for his
contributions and dedication to Sloan Valve Company.
Owen began his career with Sloan at age 19 in Sloan's Foundry
Division, located at that time in Melrose Park, Ill.
