Stephen L. Cory

Stephen L. Cory, president of Cory, Tucker & Larrowe Inc. of Metairie, was recently elected first vice president of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers.

The election was held during the group's 63rd annual meeting in San Diego, Calif.

Also, Edward J. Heine, Payne Financial Group Inc. of Missoula, Mont., was elected the 56th president of NASPB.

Other officers include Sarah M. Finn, IMA of Colorado Inc. of Denver, Colo., second vice president; and William F. Maroney, City Underwriting Agency Inc. of Lake Success, N. Y., third vice president.

Serving on the board of directors as past president is Craig E. Hansen, Holmes Murphy & Associates Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa.


Lynn B. Robertson

The Louisiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently announced the appointment of former Port Allen Mayor Lynn B. Robertson to executive director.

Robertson will oversee a membership of nearly 1,000 architects, associates and affiliated professionals in eight regional chapters dedicated to promoting the value of architecture and improving the quality of the built environment.

She will manage the overall operational, financial and programmatic management of the organization. Her responsibilities include providing liaison to state and local governments and identified community groups, coordinating local chapter governance activities, and coordinating AIA member services at the state level.

Having served as mayor of Port Allen, Robertson has 12 years of executive management and leadership experience. During her tenure as mayor, she was instrumental in initiating and implementing many community and economic development projects, including the city's Riverfront Development and Downtown Revitalization efforts.

"Lynn's successful and diverse background gives us confidence that she will prove to be a wonderful asset to our organization," said Trula H. Remson, AIALA president.
Robertson has a bachelor's degree in political science from Louisiana State University and has been a licensed real estate broker for 27 years. She continues to serve as a member of the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission.


James D. Cole

The board of directors of Newpark Resources Inc. of Metairie announced recently that it has begun a search for a new corporate CEO. James D. Cole, Newpark's CEO since 1976, will undertake the role of chairman and CEO of Newpark Environmental Water Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Cole will remain CEO of Newpark Resources until the board of directors names a successor.

In Cole's new position, he will spearhead the commercial development and marketing of a recently licensed proprietary process technology applicable to the treatment of water and other fluid streams.

Cole, who has been employed with Newpark for more than 35 years, said, "This is an exciting time for Newpark as we're finding much interest in this new technology in a variety of applications."


Julie Jackson, Bert Erdmann.

BOMAG Americas Inc. of Kewanee, Ill., has named Julie Jackson as vice president, operations, and Bert Erdmann as director of engineering.

Jackson will oversee factory production operations, supply chain management, quality assurance and facilities engineering and maintenance, while Erdmann will be responsible for all engineering functions at BOMAG Americas and BOMAG Paving Products.

Jackson's career in supply chain and operations management spans 27 years.

Before joining BOMAG Americas Jackson was operations manager for Tyco Healthcare's Mallinckrodt division, a medical equipment manufacturer. Prior to Tyco she held the position of lean implementation program manager for General Cable Corp., a worldwide communications cable manufacturer.
