Louisiana Contractor's "2002 Best of Louisiana"
project awards program voting was held in mid September and
28 winners were declared, with two awarded the highest honor.
"2002 Top Construction Project of the Year" honors
were granted to Cajun Constructors Inc., Baton Rouge, for
the Shell GOALS Venture project in Geismar; while "2002
Top Design Project of the Year" honors were given to
Remson-Haley Architects, Baton Rouge, for its design of the
Beauregard Town Office Building in Baton Rouge.
This year's winners were derived from eight construction categories
and two design categories. Nominations were accepted from
the construction industry, at large, for three months prior
to the voting date.
Official recognition of the winners will be made during an
awards luncheon on Thurs., Jan. 30, 2003, at Boudreaux's in
Baton Rouge.
Voting for the "Best of 2002" Project Awards was
conducted at the Radisson in Baton Rouge on Sept. 24 by the
following panel of judges: Pat Johnson, O. S. Johnson, Natchitoches;
Rick Holm, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development,
Baton Rouge; Donald Gatzke, School of Architecture, Tulane
University, New Orleans; David Cronrath, School of Architecture,
Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge; Mick Hime, Shell
Chemical, Geismar; Pat Gernon, Broadmoor, Metairie; and Don
Barron, Don M. Barron Contractor, Farmerville.
